The Waukegan Public Library Foundation supports the essential work of the Waukegan Public Library to impact lives through literacy in our community.

The Waukegan Public Library Foundation, established in 1986, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which encourages voluntary financial support for the Waukegan Public Library. This support will be used to help meet both the present and future needs of the patrons of The Waukegan Public Library.

The Foundation's purpose is to enhance the quality of the Waukegan Public Library's services to the community by:

securing resources to support library programs and projects not normally met by public funding;

stimulate and encourage gifts of funds, books, desirable collections, endowments, and bequests to the Waukegan Public Library;

receive,  hold, manage, use, and dispose of funds and properties of all kinds (whether given absolutely or in trust) for the benefit of the Waukegan Public Library.
